Words like and, but, and because join pieces of a sentence together. They work like glue, sticking words together.
Look at this sentence:
- Sarah walked to school but was late.
but joins the sentence together. Glue words are really called Conjunctions.
CON - JUNC - TIONS! It’s a very long word. Say it and write it down.
