Capital Letters
Capital letters are very important because they make sentences
easier to read and understand.
Capital letters are used:
- To start sentences.
- For the names of people and places - like Sarah, Buckingham Palace.
- For the names of the days of the week - like Thursday, Sunday.
- For the names of the months of the year - like September, January.
- For the names of towns and countries - like England, Wales, Hong Kong.
Write down these sentences putting in the capital letters in the right places:
- the house was in england.
- the girl's name was sofia.
- africa is very large. many people live there.
- france and germany are countries in europe.
- my favourite month is february.
- i don't like mondays because i have to go to school.
- rahma is a student in the eighth year.
- ahmed and sarah like to visit blackpool and swim in the sea.
- christmas is in december and i like to give lots of presents to my mum and dad.
- sunday is the first day of the week and saturday is the last.
- january is the first month of the year, may is the fifth month, and december the last.
- hung doesn't go to school on saturdays but likes to watch liverpool football team on television.
- the last film i saw at the cinema was aladdin. i liked it but my friend, peter, hated it.
